Why the journey to a mobile web? Simply put, consumers demand it. Mobility gives consumers the 24×7 access to everything everywhere. If your business is not prepared to deal with inquiries across multiple channels, time zones, methods, and markets then you will surely perish. The mobile web is about “giving the people what they want” oh yeah, and when they want it.
This method of meeting customer demands is far from the traditional. This requires that we think through the multitude of scenarios and plan for interaction at key moments of decision or action. Did you know that customers are using mobile to find your competition? In a study published by Google in 2011 entitled “Understanding Smartphone Users” they learned the following:
95% of smartphone users have searched for local information
61% of users call a business after searching and 59% visit the location
90% of these people act within 24 hours
That speaks volumes about the level of preparedness we must have as business owners. Do you dare continue to operate without a digital strategy?
