The Black Initiative for Self Sustainability (BLISS) is a social enterprise project, developed by YADARI and funded in part by AT&T Foundation and JP Morgan Chase, structured to pioneer change and innovations that will spur economic development and growth by increasing the number of small businesses and related commerce activity in the African American community.  BLISS is taking action to improve existing systems, invent new approaches, and create sustainable solutions to positively change the African American business community and communities at large in California.

 

This initiative, a program of the California Black Chamber of Commerce, is a unique opportunity for entrepreneurs, emerging small businesses, as well as faith and community-based organizations alike to develop leadership skills in micro enterprise organization and operation, microfinance, and social responsibility through business coaching and a series of training classes conducted by Yadari Enterprises.  The classes are being held in Stockton, Fresno, and Bakersfield which have some of the highest jobless rates in the State of California. Each program participant  attends a 12 part series of classes based on the First Step FastTrac Microenterprise curriculum made popular by Ewing Marion Kauffman Foundation.
